How this calculator works
Grade boundaries are the raw-mark thresholds each exam board sets after every exam session. They're not known in advance — they're set based on the difficulty of the papers and the performance of the cohort. This tool uses the actual published 2024 boundaries so your result is a realistic prediction, not a guess.
Why your real boundaries may differ
- Boundaries typically move ±5 marks year-on-year as paper difficulty changes.
- Different papers within a subject (e.g. Paper 1 vs Paper 2) may have been rebalanced.
- Foundation and Higher tier GCSEs have completely separate boundaries.
- Some A-Level subjects with optional modules use UMS conversion before boundaries apply.
